LYON HISTORY MUSEUM

Be handed the “keys to the city”

Through an all-encompassing approach, from the Capital of the Gauls to the 21st century, the museum is a resource centre for understanding the city in all its facets: urban planning, economic, social, religious, political and cultural.

Drawing on the 80 000 objects in its collection and on actions undertaken with community, social, educational and scientific actors in the city, the History Museum offers Lyon residents a place to understand their everyday environment. Meanwhile, for those visiting Lyon for the first time, it will serve as a starting point for their discovery of the city.
