COLLECTIONS

The collection of the Lyon History Museum nowadays boasts almost 80 000 works of art and objects. It has been built up since the mid 17th century.

Thanks to numerous acquisitions through purchases, donations or legacies, the collection now paints a general history of the city.

Plans, silver and gold plate, furniture, drawings, photographs, paintings, objects and tools (…) retrace the economic, industrial, urban, cultural and religious life of France’s second city.
