PUPPETS OF THE WORLD MUSEUM
A journey to the frontiers of childhood, theatre and dance
The only museum in France devoted to this living art, the Puppets of the World Museum today has more than 2000 puppets and over a thousand castle sets, accessories, posters, programmes and manuscripts.
Built around the original Guignol puppet created in Lyon in 1808, the collection has been enriched over the years.
To give its rightful place to the emotional side of this living art, the museum accompanies the presentation of this exceptional collection with audiovisual aids in the rooms, archive film footage of shows and educational slide shows.
There are also contributions from contemporary puppeteers in its audioguide, in the museum’s little theatre and in the exhibition rooms.
